I’m glad you’re here!
For those of you I haven’t met yet, I’m Nicki. I’ve been living in and around the Alps since 2005 and guiding hiking tours in this region since 2010. I love seeing others discover these beautiful places.
I’m a native of nowhere and, as a result, feel at home just about anywhere. I’ve lived in seven different US states and five different countries. My favorite place to be is in the mountains, where I’ve guided countless groups, including guiding the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route (in France and Switzerland) nearly 40 times in the last 15 years. I also enjoy guiding in the Italian Dolomites, and on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.
I hold a master’s degree in World Languages from the University of Utah. With my fluent French and passable German, I love chatting with the locals and enjoying local food, culture, history, and humor.
I’m also love to swim! Which is the reason for my number one rule of travel: never travel without a swimsuit! You never know when you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the deep pleasure of a good swim! But most of all, I love getting to know people in the simple yet stunning settings the great outdoors has to offer. There’s nothing like the feeling that comes from taking a break from the noise of life and truly connecting with those around you.
When I’m not in Europe, I call Salt Lake City, on the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, “home,” where I enjoy exploring all the recreation that rich area has to offer.
For the past few years, I’ve been able to offer deep discounts (tours costing around 60% of what they normally cost with a guiding company) to small groups of friends and family members on private trips (if you’ve found this website, I consider you a friend!). I hope you can join me next summer!
